Your Buying Strategy of the Day: Saturday October 25th, 2014

First thing’s first. The Ghost sale at Walmart and through Price-matching, everywhere else? Yeah, that’s over. Mid-week, I had a Target stop me before I even reached the register and tell me that they weren’t honoring the deal. Today I found 1 copy on the shelf at a local Walmart. This is the same Walmart that was cleaned out earlier this week. They would not match the price and they conveniently were out of print ads. They denied that the set was selling for $19.88 to which I countered with the fact that people weren’t all of a sudden cleaning this set out at MSRP. I also was sent an image of a note posted in the LEGO aisle at a Walmart that reads, “We made a mistake in our advertising circular for Sunday, October 19 – Saturday, October 25, 2014. On page 3, we advertised the LEGO(r) Star Wars Phantom for $19.88 Rollback. Unfortunately, the image for this item is incorrect. The copy and price are correct for this item. We apologize for the error and for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. We always appreciate your shopping with us, and we look forward to saving you even more. Effective dates: October 19 – October 25, 2014”

Party’s over. I hope you got more copies than I did. Zero. It has also been pointed out that the going rate on Amazon has dipped to $60-$70 because of the erroneously cheap infusion. That’s still a terrific investment considering the part out value is (or was) over $200.

On to new things. 70142 Eris’ Fire Eagle Flyer is on sale most everywhere right now for ~$24 from $29.99.

The part out value is $78.96 which is unusually high for Chima color madness. That’s 3.36x on the $23.49 average across 20. That’s right! You can get 20 copies of this set right now without any issues.
