Your Buying Strategy of the Day: Friday October 24th, 2014

I noticed that TRU has something on sale for once. I haven’t written about them in a while. The Bricktober “deals” are negating any actual discounts for the time being.
Now this is a TRU exclusive set and one that they have had on sale numerous times. The difference is that they haven’t had it on sale in a few months and now it is that much closer to retirement. Well, as close to “retirement” as TRU will ever have. They still have Spongebob sets near me and I bet you I can find Prince of Persia sets if I look hard enough.

79004 Barrel Escape is a $40 set but that doesn’t mean much to TRU. They have it on sale right now for $29.98, limit 2. Unlike the Eagle Castle and Palpatine’s Arrest, this one has been sitting above full price for a while.

Part out is $70.66 or 2.36x. Unfortunately, Bricktober deals aren’t available online, so there’s no incentive for pushing your cart value up to $75. It is unclear if this set is the same price in-store. Though, I suppose you could price match the set in-store to their online price, and get the Bricktober set. There ya go, good deals!
