Your Buying Strategy of the Day: Thursday October 2nd, 2014

The Christmas Ornament sale yesterday looked to be a mistake after all. I was not able to get the sale price to apply in my cart and later on in the day, they took those items off the sale page and returned them to full price. But now you know, if you see the Gold Bricks Ornament on basically any sale at all, you should get the full 99 of them. I was actually looking forward to that one.

Anyway, I have a couple of things for you today. The newest Winter Village set is out for VIPs as of yesterday. Surprisingly, it has had an inventory for almost a week already and the numbers are good.
10245 Santa’s Workshop is $69.99 right now from LEGO Stores and Shop@Home. You’ll also get Double VIP Points (10% back) and if you spend $99, you’ll get the first of two holiday sets. Good thing the set is limit 2 online and most likely the same in-store.
Part out is $184.39 or 2.63x plus you’ll be earning 279 VIP Points or an instant $10.
Now many would argue that you should keep the Winter Village sets sealed and parting them out is foolish. Well, I’m a parts man and holding sealed sets and selling them in a few years sounds terrible to me.

Next, and this one really isn’t as great as the last one. I noticed that Target has 70814 Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech $5 off for $54.99 or $52.24 with RedCard discount.
The part out value is $117.98 or 2.26x.
