Today’s post is more educational than informative. May the Fourth weekend is a pretty big sale for LEGO S@H and LBR Stores. Or at least it used to be. Now it’s more of a joke and an excuse to sell out of some older and less desirable items.
This year, 3 sets were 50% off, which is nothing to shake a stick at, in fact nobody here should be shaking any sticks, at least not near the LEGO.
Those sets have seen equivalent sales in the past. I’ve dealt with all 3 sets at equal prices or lower in the past. I forgot to check the site until about 1:15 AM and all 3 were gone. They were no longer on the clearance page at all. They must not have had many copies left. Interestingly enough, The Pre Viszla set was half price in LBR stores a month or two ago just to clear out remaining stock. So I doubt they will be in-store this weekend as the remainder is long gone. They were however subject to store availability and my store never saw them on a discount.
Other than that, keychains and magnets are 20% off. Big whoop. And SOME of the other Star Wars sets are 10% off. Um, did we not just see a double VIP points period (10% back) last month. How about an actual sale?
The final blows are that TRU still has the Old Republic set (which 1 bought #5-8 this morning) for cheaper than LEGO and Target has several Star Wars sets for cheaper than S@H.
p.s. microfighters are not among the S@H deals.
