Your Buying Strategy of the Day: Saturday January 25th, 2014

First thing’s first. There’s a LEGO Movie event at Barnes & Noble today at 2pm. Bring a child, find a child, steal a child, or just show up without one like I plan to. We’ll see how that goes… Check here for more info on participating locations:

Alright, now for those of you who want to spend some money, looks like Target has some consolation prizes for those of us who didn’t find anything on clearance or didn’t find quite enough on clearance. They have a LOT of sets marked down, but there is no good way to filter for them. So here’s their complete list of sets: by_1&intc=1518553|null
You’re gonna want to look for the ones that say “Online Price” next to the price. The sets that are marked down will be labeled as such, but there are sets where the online price is the same as MSRP so essentially, not all online priced sets are on sale but all sets on sale are marked with the “Online Price” tag.

Anyway, I’ve picked out what I believe are the two best values among the bunch, but there are a LOT of sets as I stated so you might see something on sale that is better than these two. Ooh, a treasure hunt!!

41005 Heartlake High is $43.99 and parts out for $120.03 or 2.73x.

79110 Silver Mine Shootout is $47.99 and parts out for $118.58 or 2.47x.

A lot of the sets which were on clearance in-store are now marked down online after being previously unavailable. The prices aren’t as good as we saw in-store, but they are still pretty good. All of the ones I checked were just under 2.00x so I didn’t list them here. Makes you wonder where these sets were instead of being clearanced on the shelves and ending up in my shopping cart (you know, the physical kind with the wheels).
