Your Buying Strategy of the Day: Tuesday January 7th, 2014

It’s interesting how Target can have so much on clearance right now, decreasing in price every week, yet those same sets are full priced on their website. I guess they have done all of the transporting when the set is on shelves and putting massive clearance online would result in a LOT of orders shipped for free. I wonder if those sets will live on online after we’ve bought them all from the shelves.

There is one set they have on sale right now which I’ve never parted out, but always came across when looking at rare pieces. Ninjago Warrior Bike 70501 is on sale for $13.19 at the moment:
It’s a $19.99 msrp so that’s 34% off. Target is limiting you to their usual quantity of 8, while Amazon has the same price but only allows you to buy 3:
The part out value is $36.28 or 2.75x. Like I said, when mentioning rare pieces in other sets, a lot of them were also found in this set. With only 2 minifigs, this set obviously has some great parts in it to get a value that high. I’m going to have to try really hard not to buy these.

Unfortunately that’s all I can find for today. It’s a cold one out there so stay inside and part out some sets. I’m going to be tackling a couple of Helms Deeps today and possibly starting on “Mission Lemonade Stand!”
